How do we make the watches? With attention, planning, and careful execution; hundreds of little parts come together to make each timepiece a scientific marvel, as well as a work of art.

For a new watch, our designers draw each curvature and segment of the inner skeletal structures and the outer crowns, running the final sketches through discussions and deliberations. The watch-makers provide additional detail to make the watch a practical possibility, fitting the plans with their creative inputs. The watch is then assembled by hand, manufactured in-house, and becomes ready in our repository.

Tufina’s rigorous process requires structured time in the thinking, creating, design and testing phases. Each watch undergoes 3-4 rounds of testing. All-in-all, each watch can involve anywhere between 8 months to one-and-a-half years to reach completion.

We are veterans in our work with mechanical watches. Unlike battery watches, our kinetically-powered watches consume absolutely no amount of artificial or battery capacity. As the wearer, you must wind the watch or move your wrist in order to keep it functioning. The hand-making component of Tufina is thus transferred to the watch owner, who should continue to maintain the performance of their watch. The watch becomes a part of you, and you a part of your watch.

The synthetic jewels in the watch are rubies - they are implanted in order to smoothen the movements of the tightly-arranged metal parts in the watch, preventing any grinding together and loss of energy. It tremendously adds to its accuracy.

Each watch is shaped by hands that have experience, caution, dexterity, and nuance. After hand-assembling, each watch is hand-packaged in a secure box and overlaid with a slidable protective cover. When you open the box, you’ll find an engraved envelope from us. Within it is a greeting card, accompanied by a small note on our history, a personal expression of our gratitude to you, a booklet, warranty card, and where applicable, proof of our diamond certification.
